At Alwinco, the role of the consultant is to conduct independent physical security risk assessments that identify real opportunities for crime before criminals do. Our objective is not only to identify risk but also to educate clients about security, the realities of security risk, and the role that risk plays in modern crime.

By providing clear, practical, and relevant information, clients begin to think differently about security and assess the reality of their environment with greater accuracy. This process identifies weaknesses in security design, structure, management, and human behaviour, while also providing practical recommendations that reduce risk in measurable ways. The process is never one-sided. Both the client and Alwinco learn from one another, creating a more profound understanding of how security functions within a real environment.

Our work spans residential estates, corporate environments, farms, VIP environments, mines, educational institutions, whistle-blower protection, and assassination risk assessments. Every security risk assessment conducted by Alwinco includes site visits, structured interviews, document reviews, and scenario-based analysis.

We take a key part of this process by understanding the client and the environment properly, listening carefully, gathering background information, and absorbing all relevant details before making any conclusions or recommendations.

Over the past 20 years, we have learned that this approach builds trust because clients understand that we are not there to sell products, equipment, or services.

Only once the risks are fully understood do we provide risk-specific recommendations and possible solutions. Many environments are already compromised, and this methodology ensures that we make improvements that are practical, realistic, and meaningful.

At Alwinco, we do not follow an approach where a consultant arrives on site, completes a checklist, asks a few basic questions, and then presents a quotation or price list. This often frustrates clients because they do not fully understand the reasons behind the recommendations. Our role extends beyond explaining security. We teach clients how to think about security. Once clients understand risk and the assessment process itself, they begin to think in the same structured manner.
